The Clinic History
The New Sharon Memorial Clinic opened in February 1982 after the previous medical clinic was closed in the summer of 1981 when the physician moved to another community.
A local community development group, New Sharon Enterprises, worked with Michael Faas, Grinnell General Hospital administrator at that time, to create an arrangement that brought quality healthcare to New Sharon. The New Sharon Enterprises, lead by the late Harold Stillwell, signed the contract in December 1981. The clinic has been in continuous operation since then.
