Classes Offered at Grinnell Regional Wellness & Fitness Center

Body Boost • Exercise class geared towards participants looking for a challenge. Body Boost is a high energy interval training class that continuously changes exercises every thirty seconds. Participants will complete twenty exercises in each of the three ten minute circuits. The exercise intervals will enhance cardiovascular endurance, strength, coordination, and balance. Participants can expect a different routine each class and to use various pieces of exercise equipment.

Cardio Kickboxing • Are you looking for a total body workout that totally kicks butt? How about a way to increase your stamina, flexibility and strength? Kickboxing combines elements of boxing, martial arts, and aerobics to provide overall physical conditioning and toning.

Zumba • Zumba is an aerobic exercise routine inspired by Latin dance. The program fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program. The routine features interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat.

The “MIX” • A variety of cardio and strength training. One day may focus on ab work and the next on those dreaded “flag waving” underarms. Eash class will have SOME cardio and SOME strengh training with each class focusing on a body issue. A variety of aids are used from the BOSU, resistance bands and your own body weight. If a change of pace is what you are looking for this class is what you are looking for.

Power Pump • Weights without the gym! Get visible results quickly with this total body workout set to energizing music using free weights to increase strength, burn fat, and improve overall health.

Spin and Tone • Enjoy 30 minutes of cycling combined with 15 minutes of core and upper body strengthening.

Spinning • An indoor cycling program that was designed to connect body and mind in an energizing session.

Step Pump • Your favorite step aerobics moves will be followed by 30 minutes of power pump. A total body workout!

Yoga • A flowing (Vinyasa) yoga class, designed to improve strength, flexibility, and balance through the coordination of breath and movement, while deepening body awareness and relieving stress.

Gentle Yoga • A slow flowing yoga class that uses props and modifications to ensure a safe and comfortable practice for seniors, pre/post-natal moms, and people with special health considerations such as arthritis or high blood pressure. No previous yoga experience necessary.

Basic Yoga • This introduction to the fundamentals of yoga will teach correct alignment, breathing, and relaxation techniques. Increase flexibility as you strengthen, tone, and revitalize your body. Perfect for those new to yoga and those wanting to reacquaint themselves with the basics.

Power Flow Yoga • An energetic flowing yoga class designed to increase stamina, flexibility and strength. Some yoga experience can be helpful but not required. relieving stress.
